Legal Resource Center

Residents of Santa Barbara County have access to local self service legal resources center in addition to what information is provided in this web site.

The Legal Resource Center of Santa Barbara County is staffed by a California licensed attorney, and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Assistance is offered in the completion of legal and court documents for various civil matters and infractions, and in properly presenting your case to the court.

What services are provided?

This site can only provide you with the MINIMUM forms required for filing the different types of cases in Santa Barbara County. It does NOT provide information regarding HOW to fill out forms. For that type of information, you must visit the LRC or consult with a private attorney.

Written materials are currently provided in English only, but will soon be available in Spanish as well.

All persons will be assisted regardless of income.

There are two computer workstations that are available for use at the Center which can be used to access law related web sites and resources on the internet.

Does it cost anything?

We charge a ten dollar ($10.00) processing fee per visit, which includes copies you may need to file your paperwork with the court. Applications for fee waivers are available upon request.
