The Public Index CD-ROM is made available in its entirety on a monthly basis.

Daily updates are made only to the indices offered on public workstations located throughout the Courthouse. These workstation indices are updated daily with data as of 5:00pm the previous business day. They include only Non-Confidential cases.

The Public Index CD-ROM includes cases from l975 for General Civil/Family/Probate and Criminal Felony cases, from 1997 for Limited Civil cases, and 1998 for Criminal Misdemeanor cases. There is a very limited number of cases filed as far back as the 1920s included in the Public Index . If you need to find a case with a file date prior to 1975, 1997 or 1998 as previously mentioned, please request a search of paper indices.

NOTE: "Due to the unification of Superior and Municipal Court records, there may be more than one case number for an individual or company, we advise that you look at all cases for that individual."

The Public Index CD-Rom shall not be re-copied or re-distributed without expressed consent from the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Barbara. The Court specifically disclaims any and all liability if the public index is purchased from a third party vendor.

CIVIL / PROBATE / SMALL CLAIMS INDEX
Names, case numbers, filing dates, case types and party types.

CRIMINAL INDEX
Names, case numbers, filing dates, and party types.

MINOR OFFENSES / TRAFFIC INDEX
Names, citation numbers, case types, filing dates

THE CD-ROM CONTAINS NO SOFTWARE. SEE THE TECHNICAL INFORMATION PAGE FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION. THE SUPERIOR COURT WILL NOT PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THIS PRODUCT.

To order the CD-ROM:

1. Download and print a copy of the ORDER FOR CD-ROM INDICES.
   You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print this document. If you need to get the Acrobat Reader, please visit the Adobe Website.
   
2. Complete and sign the order form.
   
3. Mail the completed form, with payment, per the instructions on the form.
